Clinic Management

Moving your clinic from paper to digital: a checklist

A step-by-step plan for going digital without disrupting a single day of OPD.

Start with one workflow

Do not try to switch everything at once. Begin with registration and appointments — they touch every patient and deliver quick wins.

Agree on a patient ID

Every patient should have one record with one unique ID (UHID). Duplicate records are the most common problem in clinics that go digital in a hurry.

Set up doctors and timings first

Enter each doctor's working days, slot length and breaks before you accept online bookings, so patients only see times that really exist.

Train front desk on a quiet day

Choose a low-volume day for the first live run. Keep paper as a backup for a week, then retire it.

Add billing, prescriptions and more

Once registration is smooth, move consults, prescriptions and billing into the same system so every visit is recorded end to end.
